John H. Whitaker Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit assisted living. We are an affordable 55+ assisted living community that provides an unparalleled combination of private apartment living and personal care services that facilitate independence.

Our staff makes a special effort to help residents maintain family and community connections — and we also work hard each day to create an atmosphere where new friendships develop naturally from shared meals, activities, and excursions.

Our goal is for all residents to feel safe, comfortable, and at ease.

We wrapped up February with an incredible Heart Health Week filled with fun, learning, and wellness! ❤️ Our residents enjoyed an inspiring presentation from Engage Senior Therapy titled “Strong Hearts, Stronger Independence: The Role of Exercise and Rehabilitation in Heart Health,” along with a smoothie bar, heart health trivia, and making delicious peanut butter protein balls. Throughout the week, we focused on heart-healthy meals and activities that support the mind, body, and soul, and ended with a “Heart Smart” Scavenger Hunt where every heart health tip found around the building was a chance to win our Heart Health raffle basket — a fun and meaningful way to celebrate healthy hearts and strong independence!
